A must-eat Sushi restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. Tucked away on a corner lot in Subang Jaya, away from the golden triangle of KLCC, is a gem of a Japanese restaurant. What makes Japanese restaurants spectacular are three things - the presentation of the food, the uniqueness of the ingredients, and their freshness. Tomoe excels on all three dimensions.
The restaurant itself is simple Japanese styling. Downstairs is the main restaurant for the masses. Upstairs is where you want to go of the best food, in an intimate atmosphere. They have small rooms for private dining and large sushi bar. Some friends joined us for the meal and we sat at the bar so we could talk to Chef Suda-san and general manager Yokota-san over a meal. As with all great chefs, it is best to just let them decide the dishes for you -- which we did.
